"Chancen- und Krisenraum Ostmitteleuropa". Conference and Simulation game with participants from Germany, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.


A young project team will organise on 5 and 6 March 2010 a conference and a simulation game untitled "Chances and crisis region in Central Eastern Europe", supported by MitOst in the framework of the European Union Programme "Europe for Citizens Programme".


Programme of the two days event:

5 March 2010: Conference: high-ranking experts from politics, science, culture, economy and media to discuss the current issues and hot spots of the region of Central Eastern Europe. The conference is a public event. Registration is not required. Admission free.

6 March 2010: The simulation game is targeted to interested and committed young people from Germany, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary at the age of 20-28 years on all subjects. As part of the management game, the young people will slip into the role of a foreign minister or a minority representative of their neighbour and discuss socially relevant topics, supervised by the expert and professional management game leaders.

The number of participants is limited.


The first stage of the application will be an essay competition in the German language. The authors of the top twenty essays will be invited to Berlin to attend the international conference and at the simulation game.
