Amici dei Navigli Association (Lombardy region, Italy) is looking for partners in Europe for the project "Canals link:
European Centre for historical canals”, related to the next call for proposal in the context of Culture Programme (Action 1.1 - ‘Multi-annual Cooperation projects’). The project aims to recognize, raise awareness and promote cultural heritage of European History Canals, to protect and to preserve the heritage of European canals; to encourage mobility of the cultural sector but also of national and international cultural tourists; to circulate the knowledge of European canals and to encourage intercultural dialogue. The project will last 5 years from the beginning of the activities.
The partner search is referred to countries involved in Culture Programme and in particular to United Kingdom, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Poland.
Activities
• Study and Knowledge (Census of the historic canals of Europe and the creation of detailed technical specifications for each canal, moments of encounter and engagement through an interdisciplinary approach);
• Promotion of networks (through a website: with stakeholders, the European university students and other subjects to work through the creation of thematic groups);
• Dissemination of knowledge (through a website containing a database of historic canals of Europe, creating a traveling exhibition graphic-descriptive, Conventions).
