Main topic of the content

The main idea of this training course is to motivate youth workers, youth leaders, trainers and other civil society activists to use sport and physical activity as tools for increasing the active participation of young people in society and to foster social inclusion of young people. The lateral objectives of this training course are to enhance the personal and professional development of the participants, so that they act as multipliers of the gained knowledge within their organizations and their local communities.
Main Objectives:
• To develop a common understanding about the concept of active participation and to explore sport and physical activity as instruments for its promotion especially in terms of strengthening social cohesion and mutual understanding;
• To explore how sport and outdoor activities could foster social inclusion among the young people;
• To equip participants with practical examples of using sport as a tool for increasing active participation and inclusion of young people;
• To explore the concept of Leadership through sport;
• To build up competences of participants in the field of using sport as tool for work with youngsters, enhancing inclusion and participation and in order to ensure sustainability of joint future youth projects.
Lateral objectives:
• To empower young people to act as multipliers in their local communities;
• Exchange of project ideas and best practices in youth work with a special focus on using sport as a tool for work with young people.
Working methodology:
The program of the course will be based on non formal education, and education through sport, intercultural dialogue and communication and will be conducted by using an interactive and participative approach as well as many outdoor and sport activities. The training course will stimulate active participation, sense of initiative and involvement of the young people in society and also their involvement in sport and physical activities. Participants' prior experiences in youth work, particularly at local and regional level, will be important and used in the development of the learning process. Active group/team work, role-plays, outdoor and sport activities and plenary discussions, as well as theoretical inputs will characterize the program of the course in order to cover all aspects of the project themes.
The partner organizations for this project are:
Youth non-profit organizations that promote, share European Values, deal regularly with sport for all and have strong transnational dimension in their projects.
The Participants we are looking for:
Participants in this training course should be actively involved in the organisation which they represent and fully able to communicate in English. The selected participants will commit themselves to attend the full duration of the training course and to follow up the outcomes of this training course in their organisation and within their local communities through sport and active youth work.
Costs:
Financial Aspects

The training course will take place from 19th till 27th of October 2014 in Slanic Moldova, Romania. Financial support has been provided by the Romanian National Agency for the “Erasmus +” Program (Key Action 1). Therefore, “IDEI” NGO will offer the following conditions:
• The travel costs from your home town to the venue will be covered according to the new rules of Erasmus + Program.
• Board, lodging, local transports and all materials of the training course will be covered by “IDEI” NGO.
• The participants should arrange their own insurance for their travel and stay in Romania.
• A participation fee of 50 Euros is required by each participant, payable at the venue.
