Project Manager – Volunteers for Education

Main objective:

To coordinate and supervise the activities of the Volunteers for Education project in Lebanon.
The purpose of this partnership is to provide support to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) in the implementation of the MEHE Preparatory Early Childhood Education Programme (MEHE Prep ECE). Specifically, UNICEF and AVSI will work together to improve the quality of the education service provided in the MEHE Prep ECE by supporting 500 Volunteer Early Childhood Education Assistants.

Specific duties:
• To plan and coordinate all the project activities according to the donor rules and AVSI procedures;
• To select, in collaboration with H.R. Department, and manage the local staff engaged in the project;
• To monitor and evaluate the project’s activities including production of the required technical and financial reports;
• To keep good relations with schools directors and participate in meetings at regional and national level in Lebanon;
• To develop, in collaboration with the AVSI Technical Advisor, a specific module for the volunteer’s training;
• To relate, together with the Education UNICEF programme manager and the CR, with the donor;
• To actively participate to Education Partner Meeting in the Country;
• Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor.

Essential Requirement:
• Degree, preferably in Social Studies, Social Sciences; Master in Humanitarian Studies or International Cooperation;
• At least one year working experience in developing countries as JPO, PO, PM or similar;
• Proved experience as project manager implementing development projects;
• Previous experience in Middle east Area is an added value;
• Good knowledge of English and French languages.
