Tema del progetto:
lo scopo di questo scambio è quello di permettere ai giovani di esplorare la loro identità europea in relazione alla loro identità religiose e culturali. attraverso vari laboratori e attività i giovani si renderanno conto che la diversità culturale è un punto di forza per tutti e come questo può essere integrato nel valori della cittadinanza europea dei giovani. questi valori si formano all’interno di una europa che ha visto un forte allargamento in diverse comunità nel corso degli ultimi 2 generazioni

Financial condition
- Spese a carico del volontario: 100 euro (partecipazione allo scambio e quota associativa) vitto e alloggio sono coperti dall’associazione ospitante e il 70 % delle spese del viaggio sono rimborsate ( costo massimo del biglietto 500 euro)

Overview of activities and workshops
Series of workshops on the theme of ‘one europe, many voices’ :

- Workshop 1 : what is cultural and religious diversity? (presentation of young people’s background: where do they come from? what is their religion?) this will include mapping where their families come from to show the diversity of their origins.

- Workshop 2: what is european citizenship? exploring what it means for young people to be european. presentation of the european system and values. this will include drawing a poster with important values for young people

- Workshop 3 : how to live together in the respect of our cultural and religious differences? first, we will explore with young people if they have been confronted to discrimination on the basis of religion and ethnicity. then, we will evaluate what kind of misconceptions they have regarding each other religion. activity will include overcoming fear and misconceptions about cultural and religious differences.

- Workshop 4: our shared europe young people will reflect on how europe can be multicultural. using past workshops, they will draft a charter on how to promote a culture of tolerance and respect within europe that they will sign. this will be sent to elected members in the two countries, european mps, and relevant european representatives. one workshop may take place at st ethelburga’s centre for reconciliation and peace.

- Activities visits of sacred places: discovering other faiths the exchange will include the visits of different sacred religious places where young people will discover others’ religious traditions. this will include: regent’s park mosque abbey of westminster gurduwara synagogue
