Call for 3 trainers for IBB: Intercultural Bridge Builders

International Training Course in the framework of the YOUTH IN ACTION Programme and European Youth Foundation

Aim and objectives of the IBB
How a young person can become youth leader as facilitator of international youth projects concerning intercultural dialogue. Young people should develop their competences as youth leaders and gain information, knowledge and experience on cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue in order to use it within their lives and youth projects.

The overall aim of the training course is to train leadership competences of young people within international youth projects on intercultural dialogue.

Learning objectives of the training course are:
- To develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes of young people as leaders within international youth projects on intercultural dialogue.
- To develop and improve skills for using methods as a leader within international youth projects on intercultural dialogue.
- To raise awareness on quality aspect of international youth projects concerning intercultural dialogue.
- To raise awareness and learn the ways to ensure active participation of young people during preparation, implementation and evaluation youth projects;
- To reflect on participants - experiences and create recommendations for management of next projects within the programme "YOUTH in ACTION".
- To offer the opportunity to meet possible partner groups.


Profile of the participants

IBB is aimed at youth leaders and/or youth workers working actively at local and/or national level willing to extend their youth activities to international level.

Thus important criteria for participation in this training course are:
- Aged between over 18 and there is no upper age limit;
- Being interested in intercultural dialogue and international youth projects;
- Ready to take part in the whole training course;
- Have organizational support for further activities with young people;
- To be able to communicate English language.


Profile of Trainers

- Experience with international trainings for youth worker and with working in international teams;
- Experience in the field of Non-Formal Education/learning and/or Youth Work ideally on national as well as on international level;
- Familiar with the YOUTH IN ACTION programme and European Youth Foundation;
- Be skilled and experienced in European training and specifically in Cultural Diversity and participation areas;
- Have knowledge, enthusiasm and experience for working on Cultural Diversity topics, and international youth / youth workers - events;
- Comfortable with English as a Working language (written and spoken);
- Sense of humour - Ability to laugh about yourself;


Conditions

- Fee - you can expect a fee of 1260 EURO. The fee includes preparation, implementation, evaluation and contribution to the report. Travel, Board and Lodging will be fully covered.
- Trainers Preparation Meeting - An absolute pre-requisite to run IBB TC is to attend 3-days meeting to develop the module further on and to reach a common standard. The preparatory meeting takes place from 04 - 08 May 2011, in Szeged / Hungary, participation in this meeting is obligatory pre-condition for selection. Travel, board and lodging of this meeting will be covered by YOPA: Youth for Participation Association.
- Training course will be held between 04 - 11 June 2011, Szeged, Hungary. It is expected from trainers to arrive at 03 June 2011.
- There is a well-established programme for the course which nevertheless will be further developed and improved. Although it is not planned to change the overall methodology and design of the programme specific parts/methods can certainly be altered according to competencies and skills of trainers.

No need to send forms by post or fax!

The selection will be done by representatives of YOPA. The decision will be based on qualifications as well as on the attempt to reach a balance in terms of cultural background and professional background. The selection should be done by 20 December 2010.
