Call for 3 facilitators: Start with Environment! - Contact-making seminar for Youth Exchanges
The Croatian National Agency with the co-operation of the Swiss NA, the Hungarian NA and the Austrian NA launches a call for three facilitators for the contact-making seminar on the topic of environment targeted at organizations with no or little experience within the framework of Youth Exchanges (Actions 1.1 and 3.1) that will take place in Zadar, Croatia in June 2011.
Aim.
Supporting partner-finding and networking among organizations.
Objectives:
- developing new youth exchange projects under the YiA programme on the topic of environment
- exchange of previous experience and good practice among participants
- better understanding of the eligibility and quality criteria of Youth Exchanges among participants
- promoting innovation in YiA projects
- supporting the 2011 annual priority on global environmental challenges
Target group of the contact-making seminar:
- Youth workers or representatives of non-formal groups of young people that have a mandate to enter into a partnership with other organisations/groups
- No or very little experience with YiA
- Willing to develop and implement a Youth Exchange project on the topic of environment
- Able to communicate and work in English
Dates and venue of the activity:
Dates: 6-10 June 2011
Venue: Zadar, Croatia
A 2-day prep-meeting is envisaged to take place in February 2011 in Croatia (exact dates and venue TBA).
Role of facilitators:
In cooperation with the other trainers and the representatives of the organising NAs, each trainer will be responsible for the:
- design of the programme and methodology of the contact-making seminar;
- programme flow during the contact-making seminar;
- final report.
Profile of trainers:
- experience in youth work and non-formal education;
- experience in conducting trainings and seminars and facilitating events, preferably on the topic of this seminar;
- knowledge about the Youth in Action programme with a special focus on Youth Exchanges;
- familiarity with environmental issues;
- team spirit;
- excellent English.
Fees:
- Following the SALTO model - 6 paid days (250 ?/day):
- 3 working days during the contact-making seminar;
- 3 working days for preparation and evaluation (individual preparation, prepmeeting, final evaluation and final report);
- food, accommodation and travel costs for the prep-meeting and the seminar are covered by the organisers.

Selection procedure:
Applications received by the deadline with all the required supporting documents will be ranked according to the quality criteria listed under "Profile of trainers".
The organisers will select three trainers (one from Croatia and two from other countries) based on previous experience, taking into account the geographical and gender balance, in order to create a diverse team.
