Bridges to Work - call for Spider-Rapporteur/trainer

Data: 31/01/2011

SALTO Inclusion and its partners are organising Bridges to Work, a European stakholder conference bringing together young people, youth workers, YiA National Agencies, other EU programmes, job centres and the work sector. This dialogue and exchange of good practices should build bridges between different stakeholders to increase young people's chances on the labour market (please read the course description and this call before applying).

- Bridges to Work will take place from 18-20 October 2011 (to be confirmed) in Antwerp - the European Youth Capital 2011.

Connecting to other activites
Bridges to Work is not the only activity addressing youth un/employment or entrepreneurship. Many National Agencies of the Youth in Action programme also focus on how they (and YiA) can improve the chances of young people on the labour market, and especially those with fewer opportunities. Some activities that are foreseen:
- Reflection seminar on NFL & labour market: Slovenia: March 2011 (exact dates to be decided);
- EU Youth conference of the Hungarian presidency, 2-4 maart 2011, Budapest, Hungary;
- TC on activation of school drop outs, Greece, 3-9 april 2011;
- NEETS conference in Northern-Ireland, Autumn 2011 (exact dates to be decided);
- Employment event, Balearic Islands, Spain (exact dates to be decided).

SALTO Inclusion is recruiting a spider rapporteur/trainer that can make the link between those activities and Bridges to Work. We would like to base the programme of Bridges to Work on the different initiatives that have taken place and build further on their conclusions (to avoid reinventing the wheel).

This linking task could take several forms:
- visiting the course and documenting relevant issues for Bridges to Work;
- preparing specific sessions to collect ideas on employment related challenges & solutions;
- inventorise good practice examples and resource persons;
- collecting the documentation made by the teams of those activities and by SALTO Inclusion;
- feeding all this information into Bridges to Work.

The strategy on how to weave a coherent web of all the inclusion & employment activities needs to be developed in dialogue with the Bridges to Work team (Tony Geudens & Marija Kljajic).

Trainer profile

We are looking for a spider rapporteur/trainer:
- with knowledge & experience in inclusion & un/employment projects (e.g. knowing what the issues are/could be);
- pro-active in collecting information from different sources (e.g. digging deeper where needed) and making sense of it (e.g. giving a coherent picture, analytical view, presenting it);
- fluent in English (oral and written) as this is the working language;
- who has a relatively flexible time/situation to travel to different activities (e.g. if dates change, etc) - it is not necessary to be available for all activities.

Trainer fees

As the negotiation and contacting process (with all the NAs organising un/employment activities) is still ongoing, we do not have a clear view on which courses can be visited and not. However SALTO Inclusion offers 260?/day for attending (parts) of the courses mentioned above and a lump sum for preparation & feeding back this information to SALTO Inclusion (in bilateral meetings, particiating in steering group meeting, per phone or writing reports). This lump sum shall not be higher than half of the fee given for attending the courses.

SALTO Inclusion will cover the costs of attending those activities (travel & subsistence where needed).
