Call for 2 trainers/facilitators for Bridges to Work

Data: 29/04/2011

We are looking for 2 trainers/facilitators for Bridges to Work, a European stakeholder conference linking youth (work) and employment.

The Bridges to Work event is composed of two parts:

- a big conference (100 persons) with various stakeholders - more formal conference methods, working groups etc.
- a seminar with young people (at disadvantage on the labour market = from inclusion groups) who will go through a parallel proces, with interactive adapted methods (maybe also language issues) - appr 20-25 people.

At specific moments during Bridges to Work strategic interaction is foreseen between the two groups: e.g. feedback on each others' proposals, presenting projects to one another, sharing experiences...

TRAINERS' TASKS & PROFILE

- One trainer will be more responsible for the youth seminar - leading the young people through an interactive reflection process on issues of un/employment - and preparing them to interact with the stakeholder conference.
- The other trainer will be more in charge of facilitating the stakeholder conference, developing working methods, steering the working groups and doing crowd management (getting the right people in the right place at the right time)
- However, both trainers will be working together to create parallel processes that fit together at moments where interaction between the two groups is beneficial - keeping track of the bigger picture.

Both trainers

- Should have a good working command of English - and command of other working languages is a plus.
- Should have basic understanding of issues surrounding youth un/employment and entrepreneurship.
- Should be available for a one-day prep meeting with SALTO Inclusion, both trainers/facilitators and the general rapporteur - end May/June
- There is a draft programme, but both trainers are asked to fine-tune the process and methods together with SALTO Inclusion.
- Trainers should also provide assistance to the general rapporteur where needed to capture the content/methods/coutcomes of the different sessions.

Youth seminar trainer

- should have experience in face-to-face work with inclusion groups, adapting methods to young people with fewer opportunities (various types) and work despite language problems, steering the group dynamics, come to results...

Stakeholder conference facilitator

- should have experience in facilitating big groups (100 people) and crowd managing, speaking clearly and logically in front of a big group, being pro-active in the management of the conference/people/inputs, crisis management (in case),...

TRAINER FEES & COSTS

- We foresee for each trainer a total sum of 1170 euro, based on the SALTO Trainer fee system: 260 euro for 3 working days + a lump sum for all preparation, communication, documenting.
- In addition, travel, board and lodging of the Trainers will be covered by SALTO Inclusion - both for the prep-meeting and the event..

APPLICATION PROCEDURE & DEADLINE

You can apply as a single trainer or as a team of two.

- If you apply as a 'trainers team' for the 2 positions, please mention so in the application form. Note that BOTH trainers of the team each still have to fill out the application form detailing their individual experiences and skills.

Interested candidates that fit the trainer profile are invited to fill-in the on-line application form for trainers/facilitators.

- Deadline for applications is 8 May 2011.

The selection will be carried out by the organisers, based on the criteria specified in the "trainers profile" section and short interviews with either you and/or your reference person. All trainers will be informed of the selection results a few days after the deadline.
