Call for 1 general rapporteur for Bridges to Work

Data: 29/04/2011

We are looking for 1 general rapporteur for Bridges to Work, a European stakeholder conference linking youth (work) and employment.

RAPPORTEURS' TASKS & PROFILE

- The general rapporteur is responsible for capturing all the ideas, presentations, good practices, interventions at Bridges to Work. To do so, there will be a team (from staff or participants) that can take notes in the different sessions and groups (both at the stakeholder conference and the parallel youth seminar). The rapporteur will have to prepare their work, steer this group and collect their input.
- The rapporteur will make preliminary conclusions on the spot based on the sessions s/he followed and the material received before, and brought in by the note-takers. The rapporteur will present the conclusions to the plenary group in a clear and structured way, with visual support (e.g. prezi, powerpoint)
- The rapporteur has the task to write a reader-friendly conference report (publication in English), in cooperation with the coordinators (SALTO Inclusion)..

Therefore the general rapporteur should

- have a good working command of English (spoken but also written!) - and command of other working languages is a plus.
- have a good understanding of issues surrounding youth un/employment and entrepreneurship
- have experience with being general rapporteur at seminars or conferences - documenting the proceedings and drawing conclusions - and presenting them to a big audience.
- have good writing experience in English (not necessarily native speaker)- able to extract the main ideas from lots of rough material and present it in a reader-friendly way
- be available for a one-day prep meeting with SALTO Inclusion, both trainers/facilitators and the general rapporteur - end May/June.

TRAINER FEES & COSTS

- We foresee for the general rapporteur a total sum of 2340 euro, which covers prep meeting, conference and the writing of a final conference report ready for (proofreading and) layout..
- In addition, travel, board and lodging of the Trainers will be covered by SALTO Inclusion - both for the prep-meeting and the event..

APPLICATION PROCEDURE & DEADLINE

Interested candidates that fit the general rapporteur profile are invited to fill-in the application form online for general rapporteur. You will also be asked to give links to previous written work - or send it by email to [email protected] (max 5 Mb/email)
