Data: 04/08/2011

Project Coordinator

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is one of the biggest non-profit interdisciplinary student associations in Europe, founded in 1989 for supporting and developing student exchange. ESN is present in more than 370 Higher Education Institutions from 35 countries. ESN works for the creation of a more mobile and flexible education environment by supporting and developing student exchanges on different levels, and providing an intercultural experience also to those students who cannot access a period abroad ('internationalisation at home').

In the framework of the 25th Anniversary of the Erasmus Programme, ESN will carry out a series of events around Europe that focus on the social side of the exchange programme under the project SocialErasmus.

SocialErasmus started in Poland in 2009. It is a project that gives international students the opportunity to volunteer in the local community whilst getting to know a new culture. The project encompasses multicultural meetings in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as ecological and cultural events and charity actions. All the projects are tutored by international students who act with the idea of enriching the society.
