Open call: ESNSurvey team

The ESNSurvey is one of the most essential and oldest international projects of ESN. It has been giving ESN a lot of recognition and clout. It is entirely based on volunteer work of the ESNSurvey team and the vast resources of the ESN network. Deadline: 31st of August, 23:59 CET

We are now recruiting new members for the team in order to compile the Survey report for 2011 and develop the questionnaire for 2012.

Required skills are primarily the following:

- Very good knowledge of written English;
- Background in social sciences such as sociology, economics, psychology or similar;
- Interest in high-level academic research, preferably with postgraduate experience;
- Some knowledge of quantitative statistical analysis;
- Knowledge of how to develop a questionnaire;
- Knowledge of statistical software, preferably SPSS;
- Knowledge of ESN and education policies are a plus;

What you get out of it:

- Possibility to use the data for your own research (so far on average 8000 respondents per Survey);
- Designing a full research project in an international team;
- Conducting a Europe-wide research;
- Improving your academic writing skills in English;
- Educing policy recommendations from research outcomes;
- Communicating research results to various groups of audiences and stakeholders (amongst others, the European Commission has always been interested in the results);
- Presenting the research results at academic and policy-development conferences (possibly);
- Additionally, you will get recognition in terms of being mentioned as one of the authors of the official ESNSurvey publication (see http://esn.org/content/esnsurvey) for previous editions.
