Are you interested in supporting young people to participate in international decision-making, campaigns and action?

The British Youth Council (BYC) is the national youth council of the UK and aims to give young people a voice and influence in society. We have been involved in international work since 1948 and are now focused on:

Global Voice:
supporting young people’s meaningful participation at international decision-making forums and events.

Global Action:
supporting youth action in the UK and overseas, particularly through shared action and campaigns and intercultural dialogue.

Global Learning:
supporting young people in the UK to learn more about global issues, particularly through interaction with their peers across the world.

BYC is now looking for someone to support our international programme, particularly our European work, over the next six months.

The ideal candidate would be committed and creative and have:
• Good understanding and experience of supporting youth participation / representation;
• Understanding of European institutions, policy and decision-making;
• 2 years experience of working with young people, including at an international level;
• Excellent communication skills, including writing for different audiences and using social media;
• Experience of supporting national and international campaigns.

We would consider a secondment for this position.

Contract: 6 months, full time contract
Salary: £25,000

Deadline for applications: 6pm, Tuesday 9 August
Interview dates: Friday 12 and Monday 15 August
