Department: Finance and Administration.

Position Summary:
Under general direction, to reduce cash, stock and asset loss at GARDALAND by developing awareness of fraud issues. This is an essential role to ensure there is a well policed environment which will create an effective deterrent to the loss of cash and stock.


Key Objectives:

• To manage and co-ordinate Loss Prevention at the Park.
• To identify areas of loss within the commercial environment, reporting findings of investigations and providing meaningful fraud analysis to Admissions, Retail and Restaurant Managers, recommending appropriate actions, with the goal of reducing stock and cash loss.
• Promote Loss Prevention throughout the Park.
• Ensure all commercial departments adhere to Cash Handling procedures to minimise losses.


Main Responsibilities:

• Develop an audit of the Park’s commercial control procedures and report regularly against measurable Commercial and Admissions targets.
• Agree and provide regular, robust and output focused Loss Prevention data regarding all aspects of control and shrink management to allow all Directors to manage loss within their departments. Specific monthly updates are required.
• Manage covert and specific Loss Prevention CCTV equipment and establish system of storing data in the correct manner for use in internal disciplinary process and criminal prosecutions in liaison with line manager and the Group Loss Prevention Manager.
• Oversee the control of Vending reporting, complimentary ticket stock and to ensure stock, meter readings, and cash are reconciled on a periodic basis.
• Liaise with Security Manager and support management of random staff searches to ensure targets are completed and they are carried out correctly.
• Monitor waste recording procedures to ensure compliance by all Commercial teams.
• Liaise with Security Manager and support management of till reconciliation check process, acting in liaison with commercial managers on significant results.
• Liaise with and act upon all data mined information provided by the Loss Prevention Analyst.
• Manage and regularly review all applicable CCTV footage in conjunction with cash variance analysis.
• Manage the implementation and installation of Loss Prevention specific camera systems.
• Update and police all cash handling departmental procedures annually.
• Conduct investigations and provide summaries to Departmental Managers and line manager.
• Conduct and assist in the recording of interviews and if applicable complete all evidential documentation to facilitate further action by local enforcement departments.
• Ensure that all investigations conducted are within the HR policy, Data Protection Act and Criminal Justice Law.
• Implement the company Civil Recovery procedure where applicable to recover loss of monies or company assets.
• Promote a professional image at all times, the job holder is required to ensure all Loss Prevention activity takes places in such a manner as to cause the least impact on guest experience. They will promote Loss Prevention throughout the Park by training, internal communication and an ongoing highly visible presence, as well as support and visibly demonstrate the Company values at all times.
• The job holder will need to review online ticket sales and ensure all detected fraudulent ticket sales are monitored, investigated and cancelled, as well as control and implement procedures for policing third
party suppliers.
• The Loss Prevention Manager will be required to develop, implement and monitor best practice procedures for a well controlled loss prevention environment. They will annually review procedures as
required and suggest improvement measures. They will also need to provide leadership and a single point of contact for all Park staff regarding Loss Prevention issues.
• The job holder will be required to develop a strong and trusting relationship with The Leadership Team and their direct reports. They will promote a professional image at all times of self and office environment, as well as act in a flexible and supportive manner to the demands of the attraction.


Background and Experience:

• Previous experience in a customer focused retail, leisure or commercial industry with experience of loss prevention. Good knowledge of Excel essential. Excellent leadership and analytical skills are required.

Good spoken and written English.


Education:

• Degree or A levels plus certificate in management or similar qualification, preferably with a business/tourism orientation.


Other Requirements:

• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.
