Location: Warwickshire The Primary aspect of the role is to validate supplier test standards and processes of parts returned from dealerships following warranty claims, and apportioning the correct responsibility for the purpose of cost recovery by the Commercial Team.
Supplier Recovery Engineer
Role Responsibilities:
- Support Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) and other problem resolution areas with data and information.
- Support engineering activities on warranty reduction programmes.
- Develop and redefine test parameters where required for testing return products in conjunction with other areas of the business.
- Recognise and communicate commercial opportunities in order to maximise recovery levels.
- Maintain a confident and assertive presence whilst representing warranty recovery, both in the supplier base and within the Manufacturer business functions.
- Ensure supplier reporting takes into account warranty returns, failure mode, and post cut off matrix to monitor effectiveness of field fixes.
- Facilitate the scrapping of parts, organise trapping of parts for engineering and Plant Vehicle Teams at the warranty return centre.
- Maintain reject/defect "failure mode" code reporting system.
- Undertake various ad-hoc investigations regarding product issues utilising all available data sources.
- Extensive and sometimes long distance travel to supplier sites in the UK. Overseas travel may also be required at short notice.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Ability to negotiate at supplier level in sometimes confrontational circumstances.
- Experience in; supplier quality interface type roles, production or quality engineering.
- Appreciation of purchase or other commercial activities.
- Familiarity with automotive vehicles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work effectively and reliably as an individual and as part of a team.
- IT Literate.
- Full, valid driving license.
