Helpdesk Engineer (Pre-Approval)
Job Location: Colchester, Essex.
Job Description:
- Accept and attempt to resolve warranty approval requests from dealers over the telephone, ensuring the correct warranty repair is carried out.
- Record data as required into a computer system.
- Participate in training / product information exchange with appropriate data sources for up to 4 weeks per year including overnight stays as required.
- Accept other assignments (responsibility for items of equipment, literature, Customer data systems, analysis, investigation, ISO9001 etc.) as determined by the Group Leader / Team Leader / Project Management.
- Write and circulate data to other Helpline Engineers / Field Engineers / Project Management / Customer / Customer Dealer staff when necessary.
- Liaise with Dealership personnel at all levels.
- Liaise with Group Leader(s) / Team Leader(s) / Project Management on Vehicle Case Histories, trends and analysis.
- Liaise with Customer Engineers / Staff on all issues associated directly with Pre-approval HelpDesk obtaining clarification from the Group Leader / Team Leader / Project Management if required.
- Complete and provide information for Company documentation as necessary (Travel Expense Reports, Corrective Action Requests, Timesheets etc.).
- On an exception basis, make travel arrangements, conduct vehicle testing, arrange servicing etc.
Requirements or necessary qualifications:
- In depth automotive warranty and vehicle repair experience within a franchised dealership will be required, as well as good interpersonal skills both verbal and written. Automotive Engineering Graduates will also be considered.
- Applicants must be PC literate, although systems training will be given.
