The Romanian organization Nevo Parudimos (www.nevoparudimos.ro) intend to apply for an EVS project on February 1st. They are interested in hosting 6 (3+3) for 6-9 months in a project which promotes education through arts in Roma communities from Resita and Caras Severin County.
The project will start at 01.7.2012 and end at 31.09.2013 the first group of volunteers would join Nevo Parudimos from 01.09.2012 until 01.06.2013, the second group of volunteers would join the organization from 01.02.2013 to 31.07.2013.
The role of the volunteers will be to organize and run different cultural activities with Roma and non Roma kids from different disadvantage communities. EVS volunteers will implement activities with other intern volunteers + a the project leader.
The volunteers will have also the opportunity to work together with Nevo Parudimos team (4 social workers, psychologist, teachers, school mediators), in different disadvantaged communities, in Roma communities, in order to learn more about the reality of Roma people in Romania.
The selected volunteers must have interest in working with Roma and disadvantage groups, and should also have experience in youth work and in non formal education. They will do activities together with intern volunteers on a project based in one or two locations. At the beginning they will have one month to prepare the project and 5-8 month to do the activities proposed.
