Call for Trainers - Multicultural Urban Solutions Training Course (Poland, may 2013)


Organizers of the Multicultural Urban Solutions TC (Polish and UK NA, SALTO Inclusion and SALTO Cultural Diversity) are looking for 1 European trainer, who will be involved in preparation and carrying out of the training course in cooperation with one Polish trainer.

Multicultural Urban Solutions TC is based on the results of Urban Solutions Seminar that took place in Birmingham in May 2012.

Aim of the Multicultural Urban Solutions TC

• to reflect, discus and learn more about challenges in youth work in urban areas connected with multiculturalism;
• to analyse the role of youth work in inclusion of young people living in the (sub)urban areas into YiA activities;
• to gain/develop new knowledge and skills in managing diversity in youth work in (sub)urban areas;
• to find practical ideas and tools how to prevent discrimination.

Participants will exchange their experience and share good practice. Short study visits in local organizations are also foreseen. Social media will be used: live blog, pictures, audio, video, etc. to link with outside world.


Target group of the TC

People directly working with urban youth:
• who have experience in youth work in (sub)urban areas;
• who have an interest in discovering intercultural and interreligious aspects of youth work;
• who feel confident to express themselves in English;
• who are committed to attend for the full duration of the course
at least 18 years old;
• residents of the ‘Youth in Action’ Programme Countries and SEE and EECA regions.


Dates and venue

Place: Konstancin-Jeziorna (in the neighbourhood of Warsaw), Poland.

Proposed dates: 21-26.05.2013 (trainers arrive one day before)

1st day: Arrivals by 6 p.m.;
2nd day: Working day;
3rd day: Working day;
4th day: Working day;
5th day: Working day;
6th day: Departures from early morning.


Team

• 2 trainers - responsible for programme flow, methodology and final report
1 European trainer and 1 member of Polish Trainers’ Pool;
• representative of Polish and UK NA, SALTO Inclusion and SALTO Cultural Diversity – responsible for the organisational part of the training (concept, promotion of the training, co-operation with other NAs, recruitment of participants, logistics, etc.).


Trainers’ profile

Candidates shall:
• have experience in non-formal education;
• have rich experience in the topic of TC;
• have at least 3 experiences as trainer in international training courses;
• have knowledge about the Youth in Action Programme;
• have very good level of spoken and written English language.


Tasks / duties of trainers

The tasks of the trainers include the following:
• to be prepared before and actively attend the preparatory meeting (25-27.02.2013);
• to implement the training;
• to evaluate the training;
• to prepare the training's report together with the other trainer.


Trainer’s fee

8 paid days (280 € per day)

• 4 working days during the training course;
• plus 4 days for preparation and evaluation (including individual and team preparation, prep-meeting, on-going and final evaluation directly after the training + final report; prep-meeting dates and final report are not extra paid);
• board, lodging and travel costs are covered by organisers.


Preparatory meeting

The prep-meeting is planned on 25-27.02.2013.
