- To identify, negotiate and present new concepts, brands and events at Airtime Strategy (ATS) meetings; and to support the Planning department with ATS presentations for existing concepts, brands and events.
Supplier Relations
- To regularly meet with suppliers to review product performance and develop new concepts, ensuring products comply with QVC’s long-term objectives and quality standards;
- To work with Buyer/ Senior Buyers and/or Merchandise Manager do develop supplier relationships, keeping abreast of new trends and competitor activity, and taking advantage of new ideas/concepts and products;
- To negotiate vendor contracts and ensure they are executed in a timely manner;
- To establish and continually build proactive supplier relationships;
- To support product development where appropriate (dependent upon product area).
Other
- To take the lead role in managing the day to day smooth running of the department, supervising the Buyers Assistant and/or Buyers Administrator within the product area;
- To support the development of the team, ensuring they are motivated and have the skills required to perform their roles;
- To ensure the Buyer/Senior Buyer is aware of any difficulties the team are facing and propose recommended solutions;
- To ensure all relevant financial information regarding product performance (historical and projected) is accurately prepared as and when required (e.g. year plan, monthly and quarterly reviews);
- To support the Buyer/Senior Buyer with the preparation of sales forecasts;
- To support the Buyer/Senior Buyer in continually reviewing sales plan and reacting where appropriate to meet budget.
Previous experience in Jewelry industries will be considered essential
