RegioFlash: European Urban Knowledge Network (EUKN) becomes the latest EGTC
The European Urban Knowledge Network (EUKN) has recently gained a new legal status as a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC). To celebrate this achievement the organisation is hosting an EUKN EGTC launch event on December 12th in Brussels.
EUKN was established in 2005 to enhance the exchange of expertise in the field of urban development in Europe at all governmental levels. The new legal status will facilitate stronger cooperation between the actors involved in urban development issues and the organisation will thus be able to provide greater support to European cities.
The EUKN EGTC Launch Event aims to emphasise the necessity of sharing experiences on the different aspects of urban development in order to encourage cooperation between Member States at various levels and overcome difficulties through joint effort. The network consists of 15 Member States: Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
