RegioFlash: Connecting Smart and Sustainable Growth through Smart Specialisation - A practical guide for ERDF Managing Authorities
The shift to a low-carbon and resource efficient economy represents both a challenge and an opportunity for the Member States and the regions. In order to deliver benefits in terms of jobs and economic development, the deployment of a green economy needs to be very closely linked with innovations, both technological and non-technological.
This practical guide shows concrete ways ahead on how to connect smart and sustainable growth in the crucial framework of the forthcoming research and innovation strategies for smart specialization (RIS3). It highlights a broad range of good practices, often co-financed by EU's Regional policy, in various areas such as eco-innovation, the bio-economy and ecosystems as well as renewable energy or adaptation to climate change.
