This Newsletter aims to inform and involve social workers, youth leaders and trainers involved in EuroMed framework
Special Issue 2012
We are at the end of a very intense year of cooperations, trainings, meetings... and here we are for closing and sharing the outcomes. In this last issue of 2012, SALTO EUROMED would like to share and present you:
1) 2012 SALTO EUROMED;
2) Focus on Euromed Youth Programme IV;
4) Euromed trainers charter;
5) and 2013... what will happen?
• 2012 SALTO EUROMED
2012 has been a very intensive year for SALTO-YOUTH EUROMED, for summarising is some findinding we can say that:
1) we had 1870 candidatures for taking part in the 12 run activities;
2) we have had the possibility to meed and train 708 participants;
3) we had published 2 Magazine, 2 new books in the collection "Study and Research" and 2 new booklet in the collection "Pratical Guide", if you want to can have a look to both collection at http://www.salto-youth.net/rc/euromed/EMlibrary/emeducpub/
4) we had 140.000 visits in our website during the 2012 and 43.000 downloading.

• Focus on Euromed Youth Programme IV
Almost two hundred and fifty projects have been submitted!
Upcoming deadlines on January for Lebanon and Egypt and on February for Jordan and Palestinian Authority. Follow the last info on http://euromedyouth.net/
Two years of the phase IV of the Euromed Youth Program are already over and five deadlines are passed with 247 proposals submitted of which a total of 77 for the last deadline of the past November: 22 in Israel, 10 in Jordan, 16 in Egypt, 13 in Palestinian Authority , 12 in Tunisia and 4 in Lebanon.
This time, not only non-governmental organizations applied but also universities, municipalities and local youth councils. Subjects tackled fully match the national priorities: environment, youth culture, civil society in Arab region, democracy, societal development, human rights.
Expectations were surpassed with the amount of projects received, witness to the fact that Euromed Youth Program is well managing to enter into the activities of Mediterranean youth organizations.
Waiting for a very likely extension, another deadline is expected throughout the course of this phase IV (2010-2013) of the program on January 15th, 2013 for Lebanon, on January 31st for Egypt and on February 1st, 2013 for Jordan and Palestinian Authority.
Morocco is going to launch its call but deadlines for applications have not yet been established. Now we are waiting only for Algerian calls.
• EuroMed Trainers Charter
During TOTEM (Training for Trainers in EuroMed) has been discussed and prepared a model of "EuroMed Trainers Charter". The document had been presented and discussed during the last edition of Tool Fair in Poland.
The main idea is to open a wider discussion about this document for collecting as much as possible the opinions about the content... do you want to contribute? Yes? here the link.
• and 2013..what will happen?
SALTO-YOUTH EuroMed in cooperation with National Agencies of Youth in Action Programme and EMYU of EuroMed Youth IV Programme is proposing for the 2013 several activities about the main axes of its training strategy.
In fact, SALTO-YOUTH EuroMed is focusing, as the past year, in supporting the cooperationg among both side of Mediterranean sea and proposing possibility to exchange and change for youth workers, trainers and youth leaders. This year a special focus will be about Youth Work within Meda countries providing opportunities with study visits to get in touch with the realities and with the social workers in Jordan, Palestine, Israel and Egypt.
As part of its horizontal task, SALTO-YOUTH EuroMed is also developping more possibilities for trainiers and youth workers for sharing and upgrading competencies about tools for learning. This year Tool Fair will celebrate its VIII year in Greece!
