To build out our team in Italy, we are looking for the Head of Merchant Development - Italy.


• Accountable for delivery of all commercial and strategic objectives across Strategic merchant segment.
• Lead an agile and highly skilled team of acquisition resources, opportunity development managers and account managers to deliver a commercially relevant and impactful value proposition to our Strategic level merchants.
• Manage resource to deliver a consistent merchant experience across a one-to-many account structure.
• Build robust customer profiles through the management of data/insights, complex client scenarios and multi-tiered engagement from C suite down.
• Lead executive engagement across priority accounts.
• Support team to deliver a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for a one and three-year period.
• Identify and deliver on opportunities for cross selling, up selling, international expansion, solution innovation and service partnerships.
• Provide support and coaching to Account Managers and Account Support across key commercial negotiations.
• Work cross functionally with the Business Unit to support development of the strategy that will enable the business to achieve macro and local objectives.


Job Requirements

Strategic business advisor:

• Proven ability to develop and deliver compelling solutions to client issues;
• Proven track record of engaging with C Suite level contacts to facilitate implementation of strategic objectives;
• Strong understanding of e-commerce and/or deep understanding of priority verticals.


Business manager:

• Demonstrated deep understanding of strategic and financial considerations and conventions.
• Ability to converse with merchants in their commercial language.
• Track record of accountability for P&L and key L1 metrics.
• Track record of over delivery against commercial targets.


Relationship architect:
• Proven track record of operating across complex internal and external matrix organisations ensuring all points of influence and conflict are appropriately identified and actively managed.
• Effective communicator across direct and indirect reporting lines and within merchant organisation to ensure alignment and consistent understanding of visions, strategy, actions and expectations.


People manager:
• Experience in establishing and managing dynamic workforce plans ensuring the right capacity and capability exists within the organisation to deliver on merchant needs and expectations.
• Proven track record of leading, coaching and developing specialist sales and account management talent across direct and indirect reporting lines to secure continuous service delivery and continuous service improvements.


Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent.
