Borsa Italiana Spa, the company responsible for the organization and management of Italian financial markets and now part of the London Stock Exchange Group, provides an opportunity as Network Operations Engineer.
The Network Operations Analyst role is part of the Networks Team within Service Delivery. The main focus of this role is Network Operations, however the role will also have some level of involvement in Network Infrastructure and IP Telephony projects.
Key responsibilities
• Actively manage and minimize any risks to live service. Any risks should be reported in a weekly status report;
• Manage the delivery of technical solutions for recurring technical issues;
• Co-ordinate regular technical reviews of the network and IPT environment;
• Input and review weekly ITO reports, question necessity of ITO alerts, identify ITO alerts, which can be filtered, rewrite messages to improve quality;
• Estimates provided for work packages are fully scoped, underpinned by assumptions and derived from through analysis;
• Planning, implementing and reporting on a sustained program of continuous improvement;
• Ensure that all Unit Processes are understood and applied in the normal course of work;
• Assist in management of relevant suppliers;
• Ensure all network devices are appropriately monitored through automated tools.
Key skills:
• Degree level education;
• Strong 3rd line Network Support knowledge with experience in the finance sector;
• In-depth knowledge of : Cisco Routing and Switching (near CCIE level); LAN, WAN, MAN, and Wireless technologies; MPLS, Multicast and IP Telephoning technologies; Firewall technologies, ideally NetScreen and Fortinet Firewalls;
• Good knowledge of Network Monitoring tools (CiscoWorks, NNM, etc), Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity;
• Good knowledge of required Service Management process (ITIL);
• Good understanding of Internet and associated environments (ISP, VPN);
• Strong client management skills and sense of ownership.
