Call for Trainers: "Fit for Work. Fit for Life."

World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts is looking for 1 consultant.

Description

The ‘Fit for Work; Fit for Life’ programme is the development of a non-formal education programme on employability and entrepreneurship for girls and young women in emerging and developing countries: (for the moment: Ghana, Togo and India but more countries may be involved in the future). The programme is intended to provide financial and economic empowerment by developing employment and entrepreneurial skills and opportunities for girls and young women who have dropped out of school or do not have access to formal education programmes.

WAGGGS will develop a girl centred non-formal education curriculum that national trainers will be able to adapt and use in their countries and communities with minimal efforts. This in turn means that the curriculum will need to be developed through a diversity lens and adaptable to different realities.

In the spirit of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting the programme will use experiential learning and non-formal education principles, such as learning by doing. The resource will also include guidance on how young women can access mentorship or coaching as they progress their job search or income generation projects.

After the development of the programme materials, WAGGGS will organise a training course in Ghana where national trainers from Ghana, Togo and India will come together for a training of trainers. During the course the Consultant will teach national trainers how to use the programme with girls and young women and how to adapt it to their own context and specific target group. By the end of the training course we expect national trainers to be able to transfer learning outcomes and techniques to other national leaders and to deliver the programme with girls and young women.
