Context/Scope:
In Innovation LA&C we are on a mission to create a Commercial Innovation Machine, and this role will be a key driver to achieve this mission, ensuring that we have a consistent approach and tools to deliver world-class Innovation across markets/clusters.

Costa Rica and Dominican Republic are within the high growth markets in Westlac, and are key markets to ensure flawless execution of the innovation machine, as it represents an important driver and source of growth to these markets.

The role requires great leadership skills; fantastic influencing skills; strategic thinkers and above all, motivated, resourceful individuals.

Leadership Responsibilities:
• Support the Innovation strategy alignment and embed the Innovation opportunities in Costa Rica and Dominican Republic.
• Build amazing relationships and strong affinity/credibility with the commercial organization.
• Mobilize Marketing and Customer Marketing to ensure brand innovation programs are embedded and delivered in Costa Rica and Dominican Republic.
• Mobilize commercial teams (Sales, Commercial Planning and Activation and distributors) and customers to flawlessly execute our Innovation Brand launches and Point of Purchase marketing programs.

Purpose of Role:
• Commercial delivery of cluster / market Innovation Projects (Launched & pipeline);
• Ensures pipeline is driven by retailer/distributor launch windows;
• Ensures Innovation projects are commercially grounded with best-in-class (BIC) customer propositions for all Innovation projects;
• Builds and delivers projects launch and nurture strategies;
• Drives the links between Marketing/Customer;
• Marketing/Sales/Supply/Finance in order to execute Innovation plans.

Top Accountabilities:
• Responsible for all commercial aspects of launches & test markets, ensuring that all projects are grounded in early commercial insight;
• Collaborate with sales, brand marketing, supply and finance teams to ensure world class launches;
• Influence and drive strong Innovation culture within sales organization;
• Commercial Input to all projects from gate 1 (Strategic);
• Lead Commercial Execution from stage 3 to gate 6;
• Aligning Innovation 4-2-1 pipeline with internal Cycle Brief and retailer/distributor launch windows;
• Develop world class customer propositions, based on strong customer, shopper and category insights;
• Present Innovation pipeline / launches to customers and 3rd party distributors;
• Commercial A&P recommendations;
• Develop merchandising strategy for all innovation projects;
• Responsible for volume forecasting for all innovation projects in the Costa Rica and Dominican Republic business units;
• Set, track and communicate Commercial KPIs for all launches;
• Overall ownership of Trade margins.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field;
• 4+ years of sales or marketing experience. Commercial, account Management and/or customer Marketing experience highly valuable;
• Commercial awareness;
• Experience in managing innovation launches within sales territory / distributor and Commercial experience of implementation of at least two innovation launches;
• Experience working in cross-functional teams;
• Strong presentation skills to be able to present big initiatives to key customers;
• Strong analytical & financial skills with specific budget management experience;
• Fluent in English & Spanish;
• Travel required and estimated at 25%;
• Good selling skills and experience in the Diageo Way of Selling capabilities;
• Strong project Management experience;
• Strong leadership and influential skills in managing internal and external stakeholders;
• High degree of channel / category / customer understanding within DIAGEO / FMCG;
• Experience of “on” and “off” trade;
• Has created RTM & QDVP3 plans and strategies across various projects;
• Good with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint;
• Experienced Bottom up building skills / building blocks;
• Deals well with ambiguity.
