Job Description
• Support, develop and manage all business operational activities in the region.
• Own the end-to-end clinical contracting process in the region for both trials, vendors contracts and services level agreements.
• Manage both budget development and control process in the region
• Analysis of the resources needs as well as internal and external business KPIs
• Optimize key internal business processes as required.
• Provide training and coaching on financial budgets, resource planning and other business operation needs in the region o First point-of-contact for all contracts-related matters in the region. o Manage, control, monitor for risks and resolve issues with clinical contracts through their life cycle from trial allocation to contract signature to reconciliation of last contractual payment. o During all stages of contract activities, liaise closely with relevant clinical team in the region, legal, procurement, finance and other internal departments (both NVD and NPH when operation is through Novartis Pharma) to ensure the best possible contract support. o Lead the process of contracting for outsourcing of services to external vendors in the region, if not performed globally o Partner with Procurement, Responsible Operations Manager in the Region and Development Vendor Quality Manager to ensure vendor engagements are as per NVD SOPs. o Support CMO EU and liaise with NV&D Finance R&D, Development functions and any other Novartis Divisions for preparation, negotiation, and review of Service Level Agreements (reimbursement and operational respectively) where operation is through other Novartis Division (e.g. Pharma). o Support the clinical teams in Region Europe for any inspection/audit related activities involving contracts and/or related processes o Archive the signed contract in the contracts repository, track contractual payments and reconcile payments against contract & budget. o Simplify, standardize and automate Development contracting processes and contracts administration in the Region as well as ensure continuous process improvement of the contracting.

Minimum requirements
• University degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• MBA desirable
• Fluency in spoken and written English and any other languages is a plus.
• Minimum 7+ years of professional experience with financial internal controls and processes, 3+ years experience in business planning and analysis, 2+ years of line business functions experience desirable (e.g. R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing, etc.).
• Understanding of Vaccines/Drug development processes in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Must have good negotiation and analytical skills, high problem solving ability and self-drive.
• Thorough knowledge of automated reporting systems, Excel and PowerPoint.
