Senior Vendor ManagerSr Manager - Category Leader Other Hardlines (Baby, Toys, Sports, Tools)

Amazon’s Italy team is looking for an exceptionally motivated and talented Category Leader with a strong customer focus. This leader will have responsibility for supporting the Other Hardlines category in areas such as vendor management, in stock management, online content management, merchant management and product management, as applicable. This leader will manage a high performing team whose primary goal is to promote category awareness, creating the earth's greatest shopping experience – a store featuring more products, brands, better & more compelling content than any store, online or off!

Your Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership for the category team and across the company to ensure that the various functions supporting the OH business listed above have accountability for all important metrics such as increased selection, unit growth, inventory turns, and in-stock rates.
• Drive periodic innovation aimed at improving customer experience and strengthening vendor relationships.
• Provide local input to defining the customer experience and represent that to senior executives, vendors and third party merchants, as well as the category team.
• Work cross functionally with central company-wide teams in Technology, Operations and Merchant Services to establish the right processes and optimize them to utilize resources most efficiently.
• Translate category metrics into actionable plans as determined by different inputs which drive category performance.
• Create sustainable process improvements which drive year-over-year progress in the category.
• Indentify new approaches for improving selection and category awareness to better manage the performance of the category over the long run.
• Focus on talent management of the team which includes effectively recruiting and developing the best, and creating an environment which motivates people to thrive in their expertise and deliver aggressive results.

Basic Qualifications
• Professional experience in either e-commerce, retail or consulting within a demanding corporate environment.
• Proven analytical skills and ability to influence people both internally and externally.
• Decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas.
• A passionate, self-starter, ready to take Amazon’s local customer experience to the next level.
• Strong and successful communication skills which include the ability to write compelling, concise documents.
• Broad commercial awareness developed in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong retail or product background with proven ability to drive change.
• Clear evidence of managing and motivating a team, both direct and indirect reports.
• Proven English and communication skills – both verbal and written.
• University degree ideally in a technical or analytical discipline

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required with Masters preferred.
