Organizational Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the CBRN Team (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Programme) of UNICRI (United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute), in Turin, Italy. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator/Head (CBRN Programme) and overall guidance of the Head of the Central Management Unit

Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
• Monitor status of expenditures and allotments through IMIS, records variations, updates budget tables.
• Consolidate data received and provide support to higher-level staff with respect to budget reviews of relevant intergovernmental and expert bodies.
• Review status of relevant expenditures and compare with approved budget.
• Assist in the preparation of budget performance submissions.
• Prepare statistical tables and standard financial reports.
• Prepare requests for contracts and payments;
• Maintain and update staffing table of the CBRN programme;
• Assist in financial planning;
• Draft routine correspondence;
• Coordinate extensively with service units and liaise frequently with internal team members both at Headquarters and in the field;
• Prepare, process and follow-up on administrative arrangements and forms related to raising of obligations connected to the contracts of the relevant personnel;
• Perform other duties upon request.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Must have passed the United Nations Administrative Support Assessment Test (ASAT) at Headquarters or an equivalent locally-administered test at Offices Away.

Work Experience
A minimum of five years of work experience in administrative services, finance or related area is required. Experience in working within the EU funded programmes is desirable. Familiarity with UNICRI working programme is an asset.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage. Knowledge of Italian is an asset.
