Consultation on the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR)

A public consultation has been launched on the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).

This strategy aims to reach relevant stakeholders and to gather their ideas in order to make sure that the Strategy is realistic in its starting point, appropriate in its objectives and responsive to the real needs of inhabitants of the Region.

The EUSAIR concerns eight countries:
• 4 EU Member States (Croatia, Greece, Italy and Slovenia)
• 4 non-EU countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia).

It focuses on areas of regional mutual interest, and it is structured around four pillars:

1. driving innovative maritime and marine growth
2. connecting the region
3. preserving, protecting, improving the quality of the environment
4. increasing regional attractiveness

The consultation runs from 25 October to 13 December and is open to private citizens, organisations and public authorities. On the site you can also read the consultation document, as well as all contributions to the consultation.
