Job Purpose

Responsible for leading in developing and executing innovation and marketing plans for the brand portfolio in order to meet annual sales, market share and profit goals. Maximizes brand positioning, consumer communication, and equity and financial well-being for their assigned brand. This position is a key player on a broad cross-functional team leading the execution of mutiple initiatives (innovation, consumer research, package design) and assisting in managing integrated marketing programs.

Key Accountabilities

1. Perform analysis of business performance, including understanding of competitive activity and impact on Barilla;
2. Assist in development and execution of marketing plans to deliver brand goals;
3. Analyze program performance and effectiveness, and provide recommendations to optimize;
4. Overall project management and support of innovation including consumer research, product development, packaging graphics and commercialization;
5. Build and manage annual expense budget;
6. In collaboration with Market Research, design consumer studies to identify key consumer insights, understand competitive activity, validate innovation initiatives, and analyze post launch performance;
7. Successfully lead and work with cross-functional teams on assigned initiatives;
8. Manage external business partner relationships as needed in development and execution of marketing plans;
9. Keep abreast of industry changes and developments (tools, tactics, etc.);
10. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

• B.S. in Business or Marketing (MBA preferred);
• Minimum of 7-10 years of Brand Management experience in a CPG environment; food industry experience preferred;
• Solid familiarity with marketing management skills, market research methodology and analytical tools for sales and marketing databases;
• Strong knowledge of consumer demographics, consumer purchase decision tree, consumer purchasing habits, segmentation, current trends and need gaps;
• Good presentation and communication skills to influence both internal customers (senior management & cross functional teams) and external marketplace distributors, customers and consumers;
• Ability to develop marketing initiatives for the brand and assigned business;
• Hands-on marketing experience within the consumer products marketplace;
• Effective project management skills;
• Financial acumen including strong analytical ability;
• Fundamental understanding of other functions that impact the business P&L;
• Understanding of Canada retail market;
• Experience in advertising, consumer promotion and media management;
• Experience using Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
• Passion for food;
• High degree of personal integrity and work ethic;
• Experience leading cross-functional team
