Roche research Group Product Manager, Consumer Promo - Tamiflu Marketing.

The Group Product Manager (GPM) Consumer Promotion, will report to the Tamiflu Franchise Head. This position offers the opportunity to develop and implement innovative strategies for a mature, market leading brand in a the consumer space. In addition to direct management responsibilities, the GPM serves as a leader on cross-functional teams within Genentech A strong direct to consumer background, record of collaboration and communication with numerous stakeholders will be a critical component of providing the franchise relevant and effective strategic direction.

Key accountabilities:
• Participates in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and plans for assigned products and their indications;
• Develops, implements and executes brand marketing strategies, plans and tactics for Tamiflu. Participates in development of the 3-year brand plan and 1-year tactical plan;
• Leads the execution of the Tamiflu DTC program, including advertising in Television, Print, Radio, Online and other channels, by leveraging advertising agency resources and other vendors;
• Participates in 3-year and 1-year operating/expense budget development and forecasting;
• Completes various financial modeling - analysis and assessment of pricing, costs, pull-through, etc;
• Works regularly with other Commercial Operations functions, such as Interactive Marketing, to ensure high quality tactical execution and a seamless and well-integrated brand message and overall position across multiple marketing platforms;
• Helps identify appropriate resources to support brand marketing strategies and activities. Participates or leads in negotiation of medium to smaller-scale vendor agreements and ensures best terms for Genentech;
• Consistently monitors brand and marketing activity performance/progress. Regularly completes forecasting and uses forecasting analyses to make appropriate recommendations;
• Collaborates with other Commercial Operations functions and groups to develop a comprehensive, strategic business plan, including specific, measurable and action-oriented objectives that grow brand profitability and adoption;
• Responsible to ensure brand marketing strategies and plans for assigned product(s) will meet or exceed established goals and targets;
• Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

Successful candidate should possess:
• Outstanding understanding of biotech/pharmaceutical marketing;
• Experience in competitive product space and managed care/reimbursement preferred;
• Solid understanding of all important customers, including HCPs, KOLs, patients, large practices, hospitals, and payers;
• Understanding of financial tools and processes related to sales forecasts and commercial budgets;
• Ability to use work experience to formulate clear, actionable strategies that capitalize on opportunities and manage risks to the brand;
• Strong leadership and communication skills;
• Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other ?quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals;
• Working knowledge of product development, regulatory and clinical affairs;
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment which requires significant cross-functional and cross-brand coordination and teamwork;
• Proven ability to work in teams and also work autonomously;
• Experience in working with regulatory committees;
• Proven track record of adhering to timelines and budgets.

Additional requirements/qualifications:
• BS / BA, preferably in the Life Sciences;
• MBA or related advanced degree desirable;
• 6 or more years' work experience in Product Marketing, Sales, or Market Planning;
• Management experience preferred;
• Previous experience executing DTC or patient marketing tactics in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology or other related industry is preferred
CPG experience is a plus;
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives & goals;
• Previous experience in managing a multi-million dollar expense budget is preferred;
• Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings;
• Evidence of excellent communication, analytical, planning and strong organizational/project management skills required.
