Zalando Technology is the base of our e-commerce platform. We’ve developed most of that base in-house: the shop, internal systems and our logistics software. We work in short cycles in order to adapt our software continuously to our processes.
We mainly use open source solutions when it comes to development and system operation and work in small, agile teams. The technology department comprises the teams of feature and platform engineering, product management, quality assurance and business intelligence. Every team is central to the perfect shopping experience which millions of customers have at Zalando.

We...
...are responsible for prioritising requests from both internal departments and our customers into projects and creating development strategies to fit in with our development and release cycles. Product Management forms an important bridge between our IT developers and all other departments.
Along with the online shop itself, we are also responsible for all the processes and interfaces behind it. This includes anything from the payment process to logistics management in our warehouses. We are always developing our platforms to make sure a variety of teams (customer services, warehouse, content production etc) are always equipped with the best tools for their jobs.
What you are going to do
You...
......independently come up with new features, flows and processes and coordinate their execution with our Technology Team.
Your range of tasks will vary from small optimisations to large projects affecting the whole company, involving liason with all relevant departments and partners.
You oversee the development of our software processes and serve as a contact person for the developers. Your tasks include maintaining and developing software tools for the shop as well as optimising your product area and the platform as a whole.
What we expect from you
• Successfully completed study in Business IT, Business Administration or similar.
• 1-3 years work experience in a relevant field a plus.
• Ability to grasp complex processes and ideas quickly.
• Good HTML and CSS skills.
• Experience with SQL a plus.
• JavaScript skills a plus.
• Affinity for usability.
• Affinity for the Internet and eCommerce.
• Very good analytical skills.
• Very good written and spoken communication skills.
