Work Context
Intervita Onlus is an Italian, non-confessional, non-political, independent Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) cooperating for development. It collaborates with local partners in seven countries of the world, in order to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations, especially children and women, and to fight against poverty and inequality. The projects of Intervita are multidimensional. They are focused on education, health, food security, economic development, gender parity, child rights and environment. All of the activities have the fundamental component of the community participation, through which Intervita and its NGO partners aim to achieve a long term and sustainable development. Education and health are the priorities, therefore the projects are based on the Long Distance Sponsorship Programme (LDSP), which is implemented in primary schools for students of 4 to 8 years of age.
Intervita works in Tanzania in collaboration with local and International partners since 2009 in projects on education, nutrition, rural development and infrastructure. At the moment Intervita collaborate with 3 local partners implementing 4 projects in different area of Tanzania for a total average budget of roughly 600,000 Euro/year. Intervita usually does not implement any project, but co-finance, coordinate, monitor and support the partners in the implementation of the projects. Intervita with its partners applies to local and international call for proposals, and participate to the main local education network.

Scope of the job
To ensure the proper follow up of the admin and reporting procedures of the Intervita action in Tanzania, to guarantee the transparency and the traceability of the economic and financial data flow.

Main responsabilities

1.Project’s financial monitoring

• To support the Intervita implementing partners in Tanzania in the projects financial management and cost efficiency balance: definition of the project budget, budget follow up and expenditure projection at partner Office on the field.


2.Office financial management
• To implement all financial office procedures to assure the cash forecast, the management of the cash flow (in/out), the relationships with the bank, the financial authorisation of the expenditures.
• To participate to the financial management of the office in collaboration with the Country Representative: drafts and updates budget follow up and projections.

3.Supervision of financial and administrative activities
• Management of the accounting and administrative document filing of Intervita Tanzania.
• Management of the projects’ accountancy to assure with monthly meetings and monthly field visits that each partner is implementing properly the Intervita procedures and following the Intervita financial norms.
• Management of financial reports prepared by the partners and checked by the national administrator, in order to assure that they are properly compiled and that all the attached documents are eligible for the Intervita financial norms.
• Annual external audit of Intervita Tanzania budget prepared by the national administrator.

4.Support to the Country Representative in the human resources and logistics management
• To define and/or update, under the supervision of the Country Representative, the human resource policy of the Intervita Office according to the Tanzanian law and the Intervita standards and define an internal staff regulation.
• To implement all the human resource procedures and assure the exact and exhaustive payment of the monthly salaries and income tax deduction. To follow the regular update of the staff files.
• To ensure the implementation of the staff regulation in the office.
• To ensure that each disciplinary action is documented, justified, compliant to the law and staff regulation.
• To support the Country Representative in the logistic management of the office.
• To support the Country Representative in the preparation of contracts and official documents like tenders, memorandum of understanding, contract for suppliers etc. etc.
• To manage Long Distance Sponsorship Program Logistic and Administrative issues: planning and follow-up of child cards and drawings campaign; supervise materials items purchase; supervise per diems of voluntaries and national staff during campaigns.
