Project Manager Protection
Duty station: Central African Republic
Starting date: Immediate
Role, task and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of the Mission, the Project Manager guarantees the correct overall management of the assigned project, management of budget and personnel, and s/he ensures the realization of the activities foreseen and the highest quality standard in all the operations carried out under her/his responsibility. Specifically s/he will be responsible:
Project Management
• Collect data on protection situation in the area targeted by the project;
• Organization of training session on protection (including GBV and child protection) topics, and information management.
Human resources
• Supervise and monitor the staff;
• Recruit and select national staff;
• Manage and supervise national staff.
Working relationships
Proactively engage with donors, international NGO, and other actors participating at sectoral coordination meetings.
Job requirements
• At least 3 years’ professional experience in complex humanitarian emergencies with NGOs or no profit organizations, in protection interventions;
• Previous experience in project management, in emergency and humanitarian interventions, with UN donors funding;
• Previous experience in CAR or post-conflict countries highly desirable;
• Previous experiences in working within CLUSTER System;
• Good knowledge of spoken and written French is necessary; knowledge of English or Italian will be considered a plus;
• Comfortable with computer use;
• Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office, in difficult conditions and under pressure;
• Strong management and leadership skills in humanitarian response;
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships;
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with analytic approach;
• Ability to achieve results effectively, considering the need for speed, scale and quality
Competence in Protection sector mandatory.
