Call for Trainers: Youth Work in Lebanon and Cultural Identities: “Diversity of Communities: Richness or?”

Salto youth EuroMed and RCBS is looking for 1 author.

Description


This publication will be part of the collection dedicated to the Youth Work in Meda countries.
This collection aims to support the cooperation within EuroMed area providing a depth reflection about the nowadays issues and challenges in youth work the Euro Mediterranean context. The collection is providing new studies about updated topics.

The youth work is moving and opening new interesting perspective for the coming future. The field of youth work within Meda countries is living strong changes and the role of young people is more and more relevant in the society.

This study would like to contribute to the overall reflection about youth work in Lebanon with a specific focus on youth engagement related to religious or political affiliations. Lebanon has 18 confessions and most political parties also carry a religious color. Both religious communities and political parties have youth departments or activities targeting young people.
Moreover, there are also NGOs and INGOs working with or for youth without any of the affiliations mentioned above, and trying to build bridges between the different parties and communities. This diversity in the youth field will be emphasized during the visit.

The study will be based on the Seminar that will be held in Lebanon from 22-27 June 2015 (TBC).

The final public of this publication will be: institutions, youth leaders, social workers and trainers involved in such activities.

The document should be submitted to RCBS (Regional Capacity Building and Support Unit for the EuroMed Youth Programme IV) and SALTO-YOUTH EUROMED in English.

The study will be translated by RCBS.


The study should provide to the readers:
1) overview about Youth Work in Lebanon;
2) educational and pedagogical background of youth work in Lebanon;
3) statistics situation about youth in Lebanon and the overall reflection about youth work with a specific focus on youth engagement related to religious or political affiliations;
4) challenges of youth workers for developing projects facing the topic at local level;
5) some examples of youth projects and best practises.


Requested trainer profile:
The author should have a good background about the thematic, able to work in English and to full fill the required tasks and deadlines. The author should have also a background about the Euromediterranean cooperation.


Working conditions
The author should be able to attend to the study visit and to produce the desk research by the end of September 2015.

The fee will be 3000 euro. The travel travel costs and the boarding and lodging for the study visit will be covered by organizers.
