Call for outdoor trainers


We are looking for outdoor trainers to join our pool of trainers. The topics we are interested in are: emotional intelligence, conflict management and leadership. Applications from trainers who have expertise in one of the below mentioned topics are also welcomed.

What?
Outdoor trainings - Sailing expeditions in Greece
Ergonautics is an innovative concept bridging past philosophies and ideals and present needs. Using experiential learning, sailing and the latest academic research findings Ergonautics offers unique outdoor trainings with long lasting impact to participants as well as to their organization.

As in Ancient Greece, a ship's crew can only be tested through adversity. Learning in a nautical environment, participants confront the natural elements of the sea and the wind and experience physical, intellectual and emotional challenges. With sailing, we challenge participants to surpass themselves and grow as people.

We offer outdoor trainings to develop participants on the following topics:

C. Emotional Intelligence
D. Communication
E. Creativity and Innovation
F. Personal Development
G. Work - life balance
H. Conflict Management

Where?
Expeditions in: Ionian islands, Sporades, Argosaronic islands

When?
• April - October every year
• duration: 1 week

Requested Trainer Profile

Ideal candidate:

• experienced in outdoor trainings
• expertise in one of the above mentioned topics
• holder of sailing license
• delivers on time
• able to work efficiently under high temperatures
• fluency in at least English language
• European residency and nationality

Working Conditions

• Trainers will be selected from our pool depending on the needs of each training.
• We will inform you at least 2 months before the training about the possibility of conducting one of our courses. Together with the offer and all necessary training information you will also receive all the relevant financial details that you need to know in order to decide.
• Expected remuneration for one week training course: around 2.500 Euros. Travel costs, accommodation and meals are covered by us and are not part of your remuneration.
• Accommodation will be aboard, two people/ cabin (together with your co-trainer).
• The majority of the meals will be cooked by the crew/participants on the boat.
• You will receive before the training the following: organizational needs' analysis, individual needs' analysis, learning objectives and the metrics/key performance indicators which are going to be used in order to measure the results and impact of the training.
• You will develop and run the training together with your co-trainer and have everything prepared 2 weeks before the training.
• You are responsible for providing participants with all necessary training materials and do the final evaluation.
• Trainers are expected to arrive 2 days before the training and stay one day more for the evaluation.
• Approximately 3-5 sailing hours/day and 4-6 hours of training delivery/ day. These can change depending on the needs, the learning objectives of the program and of course the weather conditions.
• Number of participants: 6-10

Team Composition

In each training we will have a team consisting of:
• 2 Training Developers (trainers/skippers) and experts on the topic who will design and run all the activities
• 1 Topic Matter Expert (university professor) who will give input about the latest university research developments on the topic
• we combine experiential learning with the latest academic research findings/ theories, trainers take the material and decide how to integrate it to the course.
• 1 Reality Matter Expert (contact from the organization) who will provide us with internal insights and examples that could be used during the training and will be responsible for supporting us implementing the new behaviors learned in the organization
• 1 Coach who advices Training Developers on didactical questions, involved in all decisions during the development process
