Starting date: 1st April 2015
Length of contract: 12 months with possibility of extension.
Type of contract: M.A.E.C.I. Contract, low 49/87
Location: Senmonorom, Mondulkiri Province.
Country: Cambodia

Summary of the Position:
The project “Equity- the Right to Child and Maternal Health in Mondulkiri” is focused on the protection of child and maternal health rights.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
• organizing and leading all project’s activities, reinforcing capacities of beneficiaries to claim their health rights;
• building and cultivating local partners;
• the coordination between field and CIAI Cambodia Central office in Phnom Penh;
• providing programmatic and administrative support to the field staff.
The Project Coordinator will interact with other stakeholders such as government officials, health staff in Mondulkiri Referral Hospital and other public health structures in the Province, local leaders and other organizations working in the area.
This position will be based in Senmonorom, Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia.
Reports to CIAI Country Representative in Phnom Penh.

Minimum Qualifications and skills:
• Degree in social sciences, public health or related field;
• Proficiency in English;
• European Union Nationality as required by law 49/87;
• At least three years experience in managing development projects with preference on public health and community empowerment;
• Knowledge of Child Rights;
• Excellent inter-personal/communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and develop new partnerships;
• Experience in community mobilization, knowledge and interest in community empowerment;
• Ability to work independently and take the initiative;
• Outstanding organizational skills and high level of attention to detail;
• Ability to resolve conflicts effectively;
• Ability to administer a budget/track and manage finances;
• Computer literate: knowledge of Microsoft Office Computer Package (Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc ) and Internet user.

Other qualifications and skills desired
• Ability to communicate in Khmer and Italian language;
• Experience working in Cambodia or other nearby countries.
• Previous experience in management of projects funded by M.A.E.C.I.

Essential Job Functions
• This is a key position within CIAI Cambodia, demanding significant international experience, professional maturity and balance, creativity, vision and commitment;
• Assure that CIAI and Donor’s procedures and CIAI Child Protection policy is respected by all staff;
• Track and maintain up-to-date project information;
• Prepare narrative reports on the project and thematic related in-country developments;
• Prepare financial reports in collaboration with CIAI financial department and CIAI HQ Financial Reporting Unit;
• Assure that fund requests are timely prepared and sent to respond to implementation needs;
• Prepares future project proposals consistent with the fund raising needs of the project and other thematic related actions;
• Is responsible for the human resources’ management of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team, which includes supervision and coaching of national staff;
• Follow-up of implementation plan and ensure the timely compilation of progress reports from consortium members.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Mondulkiry is an isolated rural area of Cambodia. The Project Manager is requested to have previous experience and willing to live in rural areas of countries in development.
