Position: Grant Manager / Cooperante Fascia C
Area/departiment: Africa Program Department
Location: South Sudan, Juba and Maridi (Western Equatoria)
Contract / donor: MAE
Duration: April 2015 – March 2016 (12 Months)

As per regulation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AMREF Italy will deploy an Italian Grant Manager to South Sudan.

Terms of reference
The Grant Manager will be responsible of the following tasks:
• She/he is directly responsible for the administrative and financial management of the MAE-funded project, ensuring the correct use of the budget in line with the budget developed by AMREF Italy and AMREF South Sudan;
• She/he will ensure that all the donor’s procedures and regulations are accomplished;
• She/he will be responsible for the procurement of equipment and supplies needed to the implementation of the project in collaboration with the country and institutional procurement committee;
• She/he must authorize all the project’s expenses before posting, as per budget provisions;
• She/he shall be a member of the senior management team and participate in SMT meetings;
• She/he will provide technical support for local personnel with tasks concerning the project;
• She/he will regularly report to the Africa Programs Unit – South Sudan Project Cordinator of AMREF Italy on the progress of the activity;
• She/he will be in charge to write timely technical and financial reports, as per requisition of the donor;
• These reports will summarize the progress made by the project versus the expected results, explain any significant variances, and detail the necessary adjustments;
• She/he will act as AMREF Italy’s focal point in the country (relations with stakeholders, partners and institutional donors);
• She/he will finalise the project’s financial report in accordance with the donor’s rules;
• She/he may undertake any other duties that may be assigned to her/his by her/his supervisor from time to time to support overall institutional strategic and operational priorities.

Job requirements
• At least 4 years’ professional experience on the field, within international NGOs or humanitarian organizations;
• Experience working with and coordinating with donors including MAE, UE and knowledge of specific donor guidelines and priorities;
• Demonstrated skills and experience working within NGO finance, security and operational frameworks;
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of M&E MAE procedures; formulating project proposal and report development;
• University Degree preferably post graduate degree in a relevant field of study (Finance, Social Sciences and International Development etc.);
• Proficient knowledge of English (spoken and written);
• Previous experience in working in isolated location preferably.
