Call for Trainers: Educational tool on the topic of Europe with the focus on identity, values and active citizenship.


SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre is looking for one author.

Description
The educational tool is foreseen to function as an e-learning module for practitioners in the fields of youth and non-formal education, who are interested in exploring the topic of Europe from the perspective of identity, values and active citizenship, and learning methods to integrate the European dimension in their activities with young people. The tool will contain theoretical inputs, practical exercises, good practise examples and resources.

The tool will be developed to reach the following objectives:
• To support the integration of European dimension in youth work and youth activism, in particular within the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme;
• To raise the awareness of concepts and approaches constituting the European dimension, in particular identity, values and active citizenship, and to provide methods to tackle them in activities with young people;
• To promote non-formal learning and European citizenship.

Requested trainer profile
The author is responsible of consolidating the concept together with the organisers, developing the written educational content, which can be transferred to e-learning materials and coordinating the design of the tool. (Depending on the final concept, external contributors can be used to produce additional elements, such as interactive text, graphics, audio, video or animation.)

Accordingly, the selected author should have:
• Excellent overall writing skills;
• Proficiency in English;
• Understanding of the principles and processes of non-formal learning;
• Prior experience in developing pedagogical tools in the frame of non-formal education;
• Understanding and knowledge of the concepts of identity, values and active citizenship in international and intercultural contexts;
• Experience in international youth work, in particular in the European framework;
• Competence in using e-learning tools and templates.


Working conditions
The tool is foreseen to be developed by the end of 2015.

A two day editorial meeting is foreseen. The exact dates will be agreed with the selected author. Board and lodging as well as travel expenses to the preparatory meeting will be covered by the organisers.
The author can be contracted only through a legally established entity (an organisation or a company).

The fee will be 280 EUR x 12 = 3360, 00 EUR including VAT, if relevant.


Team composition
The tool is a cooperation project of the SALTO South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centres together with the Austrian, and German National Agencies of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme .

Interested candidates are invited to send the following documents by email or mail to the SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre (contact details below)
• a motivation letter describing the candidate’s competences with reference to the selection criteria;
• a portfolio / list of previous tools and / or publications the applicant has developed (links to the electronic versions, web pages etc. are sufficient if it is clarified what was the role of the applicant in the production);
• a proposal of e- learning template(s) potentially suitable for the tool.
Applications can be sent until 14.5. 2015.

The author will be selected on the basis of his / her competences and suitability for the task, with reference to the selection criteria above.
