Base: SOUTH OF ITALY / Reggio Calabria with travel to Sicily and Rome

Human Resources of the mission
The team is composed by:

• A general coordination based in Rome.
• A team to implement the project for access to health for migrants in the south of Italy (13 staff).
• A team to implement the search and rescue project with our partner SOS Méditerranée (on the boat: a medical field coordinator, a medical team, a welcome team and a communication officer).

Duties and responsibility
• As the Logistic coordinator, you are in charge of:

• Supply chain management and daily logistical management.
• You handle the supply Management for the project: reception of orders, selection of the procedures needed, purchasing, packaging, organising transport and delivery.
• You apply and ensures compliance with MDM and Donors procurement procedures.
• You create and archive complete procurement files.
• You develop lists of suppliers and price lists regularly updated with a market analysis twice a year.
• Storage Management: you ensure a functional and documented storage system, based on procedures and a regular supervision.
• Base Maintenance (guesthouse/office): you ensure the regular orders for the guesthouse, the maintenance as well as the development of facilities when needed.
• Equipment Management: you supervise a clear distribution, installation and monitoring of materials, guarantee a proper communication and IT equipment and its maintenance, as well as a regular back up and data protection system.

Stocks management / Storage:
• You are in charge of monthly inventory logistics stock.
• You apply and ensure compliance with procedures managements MDM stocks (storage and inventory).
• You Follow the regular maintenance and proper use of different equipment: hardware, satellite, energy etc …

Transportation / Vehicle Fleet Management:
• You guarantee the availability of vehicles fully equipped and secured for people and materials.
• You coordinate maintenance, monitoring, repair of vehicles.
• You apply and ensure compliance with vehicles managements procedures of MdM.
• You prepare monthly fuel consumption.
• You manage the purchase, hire additional vehicles if required.
• You recruit and train drivers about the rules of MDM.

The team management:
• You supervise the entire logistics team.
• You participate in assessments, drafting / revision of job descriptions of logistics personnel according to changes of the program.
• You train and supervise the logistics team (logistician for the rescue on the sea, drivers, guards, cleaning lady) to MdM-F standards.
• You participate in the recruitment of logistics personnel.

Safety and Security:
• You support the Program Coordinator and the General Coordinator in security assessment in the project area and ensure that security rules are implemented, understood and followed by the team (both expat and national).
• You ensure that safety rules are in place in all vehicle and premises, you facilitate the implementation of all decisions made by the coordination for security reasons.
• You ensure the understanding and application of security rules in place for the international staff as a national.
• You make the sect briefings for all new staff and visitors (national and expatriate).
Make sure you safety and security of buildings MdM.

Profil recherche:
• At least three years of previous working experience in the same position.
• Excellent knowledge of the procedures of international donors needed.
• Very good knowledge of Excel and Word, PowerPoint, Internet.
• High level of English and Italian is an asset. French is a plus.
• Rigor, responsiveness, anticipation, ability to take initiatives Flexibility.
• Excellent stress management.
• You are committed to MdM’s values as an organisation and motivated by its non-statutory, NFP model.
