Project Manager Junior

Main objective:
• To coordinate and supervise all the activities of the SNAC – (Supporto alla Nutrizione e Accompagnamento alla Crescita per donne e bambini in Sud Sudan/Support to the Nutrition and Growth for women and children) in Cueibet – Lakes State project financed by Italian Government.
• The project aims to improve the social and health condition of the Cueibet Community, Lakes State in response to the South Sudan food security crisis. The specific objective is to improve the nutrition condition of the most vulnerable groups of the area of Cueibet County focusing intervention to women and children under 5.
• The project will be implemented in collaboration with the project partner and the AVSI South Sudan HQ based in Juba.
Reporting to: Country Representative (CR)
Specific duties:
• To plan and coordinate all the project activities according to the donor rules and AVSI procedures;
• To select, in collaboration with H.R. officer, and manage of the local staff engaged in the project;
• To monitor and evaluate the project’s activities including production of the required technical and financial reports;
• To manage the procurement and the administration for the financial report related the project;
• To work in close relation and dialogue with the local partners, to improve their skill, management and performances;
• To relate with the local authorities and all the actors involved in the project;
• To relate, together with the Nutrition Focal Point and the CR, with the donor;
• To implement project activities in collaboration with the Area Team Leader in the project area and with the other Project Managers, in order to increase the impact of the project starting from the synergies with similar project in Nutrition and Food Security;
• To actively participate to Nutrition and Food Security cluster in the Country;
• Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor.
Essential Requirement:
• Degree, preferably in Social Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health; Master in Humanitarian Studies or International Cooperation.
• At least one year working experience in developing countries as JPO, PO, PM or similar.
• Proved experience as project manager implementing development projects, especially in Sub-Saharan. Africa.
• Previous experience in South Sudan is an added value.
• Experience in developing nutrition or food security projects in rural areas.
• Computer skills / Microsoft Office.
• Good knowledge of English language.
• Knowledge of Italian Language.
