Un ponte per… (UPP) is an italian Ngo established in 1991. It has started its activities as Un Ponte per Baghdad, right after the end of the war in Iraq, with the aim of organizing solidarity initiatives in favor of the Iraqi civil society . Later on, the intervention of Un ponte per… has started including Serbia and other Middle East and Mediterranean countries. The Ngo mission is to prevent new conflicts, protect human rights and support civil society, especially in the Middle East, through awareness raising campaigns, cultural exchanges and humanitarian projects. UPP is active in Iraq since 1991 and is regularly registered at National and Kurdistan Region level. Since 2012 UPP is active in several programs to assist Syrian refugees.

PROJECT TITLE: Resilient communities: Supporting Livelihoods, Education and Social Stability for Syrian refugee and host populations
Funded by: MADAD – Regional EU Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis
The overall goal of the proposed action is to Strengthen the prospects of youth in refugee and host communities for social and economic inclusion in Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey.
The project manager will be directly responsible of the implementation of the project in Iraq.
In order to achieve this, the project will adopt a comprehensive approach over a period of 18 months with the following specific objectives:
1. Increase economic self-reliance of youth in refugee and host communities
2. Develop more tolerant relationships between youth in refugee and host communities

The proposed action is expected to bring the following results:
Access to demand-driven livelihood opportunities for youth in refugee and host communities is increased.
The basic social and economic skills of youth in refugee and host communities are strengthened.
The psychosocial well being of youth participants in refugee and host communities is improved.
Understanding and empathy among youth in refugee and host communities is increased.
Duration: 18 months.

OVERALL SCOPE OF WORK:
The project manager will coordinate the project staff and ensure the efficient management of the project, monitoring, reporting and evaluating the implemented activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
With respect to the EU funded project:
• Setting up, planning, and supervising the implementation of the project activities in close co-operation with the key project staff and local and international partner;
• Monitoring the activities and the results achieved against the project indicators;
• Ensuring that all project reporting (internal and external) is completed in a timely and accurate manner;
• Planning the project expenditure and ensuring the compliance of expenditure of budgets with donor requirements;
• Liaising with local partners and international, the donors, and all relevant stakeholders;

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• University degree;
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in humanitarian project management;
• Excellent command of the project life cycle management with a special focus on administration and reporting actions;
• Proven capacities to plan activities successfully targeting results and objectives;
• Knowledge of the guidelines set out by European Commission;
• Excellent oral and written English. Arabic or Kurdish an asset;
• Working experience with local counterparts (CSOs, local NGOs, and others);
• Experience of planning, organizing and prioritizing work, working under pressure and meeting deadlines;
• Proactive attitude;
• Team working skills;
• Excellent computer literacy skills.

DESIDERABLE REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in MhPSS/Livelihood focused programs
• Experience in management of complex multi-countries program in collaboration with several international and national partners
• Academic studies (preferably graduation/master degree) in the field of international cooperation, project planning, psycho-social support.
• Knowledge of the Middle East context and relevant local actors.
