This workcamp will allow young people from all over the world to participate in the fascinating task of learning to produce salt in a historic cultural landscape and to restore it; a place where a simple stroll becomes an experience.

Specific goals: Promote knowledge and coexistence among young people from different countries through volunteer work and encourage their capacity to be responsible and participate in large groups. Educate participants in coexistence and team work for the general good. Facilitate cultural exchanges among work camp participants and the local population. Promote values, such as coexistence, tolerance, solidarity, participation, intercultural values...
?While actively collaborating in the recovery and maintenance of Salt Valley, young volunteers will learn to produce salt in the way salt workers do by using the salt springs, and taking advantage of the sun and the wind for a natural evaporation process. The ultimate aim is to achieve an overview of the work performed by saltworkers in Salt Valley throughout the year, due to the seasonal nature of salt production, and obtain basic notions of some of the techniques used in the valley to build the salt pans.

The project is located in Valley of Alava , province of Alava, in the Basque Country. The nearest international airport is Bilbao (88 km).
