Project manager Madad – Lebanon

Closing Date: 20 July 2016
Duty Station: Beirut
Period: 12 months renewable
Starting Date: 1 September 2016

Main objective:

The project Manager is responsible for the overall implementation of the project. He/she is directly responsible for supervision of the managerial, coordination and technical team assigned to the action: the project coordinator, the education expert, the protection officer, financial officer.
The PM will organize regular meetings also at area level with the education officers and the educational activities coordinators in order to follow up the implementation of the project in accordance with the work plan.
The PM will closely work with the Chief of Party and the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager in order to establish an effective monitoring system, to harmonize tools and methodologies in all the project areas, to set up standard operational procedures. Together with the education expert will participate to coordination meetings at national level.

Beside those specific task, regular tasks related to the position will be assigned:
• Participation in the project leading committee;
• Management of the relation with the HQ;
• Responsible for compliance with donor procedures;
• Prepare the narrative reports;
• Represent the NGO toward the donor and in relevant working groups/meeting/donor;
• Keep the relations with the local authorities;
• Reporting to: Chief of party.

Essential Requirement:
• Relevant post-graduate degree or minimum five years overseas experience in high-level management for an international NGO; on the ground experience with programs in complex emergency or post-conflict settings preferred;
• Strong participatory leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate staff and provide strong leadership for a diverse team in a politically unstable and insecure environment;
• Strong oral and written communications skills, esp. negotiating skills; excellent computer skills;
• Excellent organizational, administrative and management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
• Proven knowledge with private, EU, US government, UN and multi-lateral donors;
• Excellent French and good English preferred.
