Background information:
Civil society organizations can play an important role as a response to the crisis and radicalization that has become its consequence. In some cases already NGO’s and active citizens have gone beyond their capacities to fill the gap left by national and regional authorities and have proven they have got the will and the need to be heard. This positive cases must be multiplied and the role of civil society has to be expanded. Thus, creating network of civic organizations working or willing to work in the field of migration is essential. It is also very important to build the capacities of staff members, social workers, youth workers and human right activists in the field so they can provide adequate support to refugees and migrants in the areas of education, social services, linguistic or psychological support as well as social mentoring and integration processes. There is a clear need of empowering civil society organisations which are working with refugees and migrants so they become stronger and valuable actors in the current refugee crisis. They need to be better prepared to contribute to the resolution of the refugee crisis and to policies for the integration of refugees. This improvement and professionalization can result in providing both high quality support to the refugees and migrants as well as in supporting the EU and national policy making with valuable input.

Methodology:
Through Non Formal Education methods: exercises, discussions, presentation of examples of good practices, youth policies in the field of combating discrimination and promoting multiculturalism, we want to encourage peer learning and inspire youth workers to discuss follow-up and take action in their own countries following the Training Course. Developing skills and competencies of the participants that are needed when working with refugees and migrants, and empowering them to make real change in their local communities and societies should be in the focus while choosing the methods of the Course.
