Call for Trainers: Cross-sectoral conference on NEET issues – “On Track - different paths out of NEET situations” is co-organised by SALTO Inclusion and the Turkish National Agency for the E+ Youth in Action programme is looking for 3 facilitators: 2 from Turkey & 1 international.

6 (arrival in the evening) – 10 (departure after breakfast) of March, 2018.
Venue: Istanbul, Turkey.
Working language: English.
Group size: Max 100 participants from programme countries.

Theme:
This conference is an international event for professionals from different sectors about creating better opportunities for young people in NEET situation in society and on the labour market. Young people in NEET situation is a rising issue across Europe and reducing this is a policy goal at European level. The conference will focus on sharing and exploring good practices in working with people in NEET situation, coming from the SALTO Inclusion research & publication “On Track” and participants’ experiences.

This will be the 2nd edition, as the first conference took place in Slovakia in 2016.


Programme & methodology: The programme will be based on the research and publication (following possibly the structure of the publication). It will combine input and workshops.

Aim:
To promote sustainable cooperation between professionals from different sectors in order to create better opportunities for young people in a NEET situation to enable their active involvement in society and integration into the labour market. To get to know different national & cross-sectoral realities (policies, practices, understanding of NEET).

Main Objectives:
• To highlight variety of resources
on young people in a NEET situation, including SALTO Inclusion study “On Track”.
• To explore different NEET realities across Europe and different types of practices.
• To exchange the possible ways to work together and stimulate development of cross-sectorial partnership projects for youth in a NEET situation.

Profile of participants:
Max 100 professionals with experience working on the issue of vulnerable young people in NEET situations (face-to-face workers as well as managers/decision makers). International experience is not a must.
• Youth workers (grassroots – involved in outreach youth work and directly working with young people in a NEET situation);
• Young people - those who were in a NEET situation recently, but have managed to overcome the obstacles (give them chance to tell their stories and get in dialog with the stakeholders);
• Formal education representatives – Teachers;
• Researchers;
• Representatives of ESF, LLP, inclusion school units;
• Representatives of social services;
• Representatives of the business sector.

Requested trainer profile
We are looking for facilitators with the following profile:
• Good English skills;
• Experience with facilitation of conferences, group discussions, making sense of contributions from different stakeholders (from different professions but also different countries) – leading to coherent outcomes;
• Experience & knowledge of the topic: issues of the school drop-outs and unemployed young people, policies relevant to young people in a NEET situation, synergies between formal, non-formal and informal learning and the world of work, social inclusion, reaching out /access;
• Turkish facilitators should also know the local reality very well & be able to help with organising the local, projects visits;
• Availability for the prep-meeting and conference itself.

Working conditions
Conference Dates:
6 (arrival in the evening) – 10 (departure after breakfast) of March, 2018, Istanbul, Turkey.
Duration: 3 working days (7, 8 & 9 March).
Prep meeting: 8 (arrival by dinner) - 11 of October, 2017 (departure after breakfast), Ankara, Turkey.

Facilitator fees:
We calculate 3 working days at 290 € per day, plus a lump sum of 870 € covering all preparation, communication and follow-up. In total: 1740 € all in (VAT included).

For the facilitators from Turkey during payment processing, 20% of the fee will be withheld for income tax.

SALTO Inclusion (Jint vzw) and Turkish NA will cover the facilitator’s travel & subsistence costs for the prep meeting & and event.

Team composition
The organising team will be composed of 4 facilitators (3 this call) and SALTO and National Agency staff.
