Grants Support Manager – Italy

COOPI is seeking a Grants Support Manager for the programs development function within the Program Quality and Innovation Office to be based in COOPI Headquarters in Milan.
The main responsibility is to coordinate the activities related to programs development notably monitoring of funding opportunities issued by institutional donors and providing overall guidance to the revision process of project proposals elaborated by the country offices.
Reports to: Head of Program Quality and Innovation Office.
Duration of the contract: 12 months (renewable).
Location: Milan, Italy.
Closing date: 15 june 2017.

Key Responsibilities:

• To coordinate the overall planning of new projects to be submitted to institutional donors and to activate internal and external resources accordingly;
• To implement regularly the needs assessment of the countries in which COOPI operates, functional to the submission of project proposals;
• To activate and support the external consultants roster during the assessment and writing of project proposals;
• To ensure the compliance with the guidelines of institutional donors (mainly USAID and EU) during the elaboration and submission of project proposals;
• To ensure the quality of project proposals with regards to COOPI quality standards;
• To monitor funding opportunities and call for proposals issued by institutional donors;
• To create contents for the technical training of the staff working in the same department.

Qualifications

Essential requirements:

• University degree and/or Master in subjects related to international cooperation;
• Advanced knowledge of Project Cycle Management;
• Excellent command of English and French;
• At least 8 years of working experience in international cooperation – of which at least 6 years with NGOs in developing countries in positions involving project management and program coordination;
• Previous experience in writing project proposal for the following donors: EU, USAID, UN Agencies and Programs.

Other requirements:
• Excellent organisational and managerial skills, leadership and ability to coordinate with stakeholders at different levels inside the Organisation;
• Ability to work independently and to meet strict deadlines;
• Strong motivation for the position, enthusiasm and ability to innovate.
