Project Coordinator – Multisectorial intervention

Country: Burundi.
Closing Date: 28th of July 2017.
Duty Station: Bujumbura.
Period: 1 year.
Starting Date: 1st of September 2017.
Main objective: To coordinate and supervise all the project activities according to the donor rules and AVSI procedures, in order to achieve the specific objectives of the project and to promote the involvement of local partners.
Reporting to: Country Representative (1st Supervisor), Regional Manager (2nd Supervisor).

Specific duties:

• To be responsible for the activities related to the AVSI project (mainly Professional Training);
• Carry out regular field visits (field monitoring, evaluations, reporting, etc.);
• Ensure regular update of the project planning and tasks based on monitoring and reporting;
• Keep good relationships with the donor and all relevant stakeholders in the area and include them at the various stage of implementation;
• Train staff in accurate recording, compilation, analysis and reporting procedures;
• Ensure accurate data collection and analysis;
• Provide direction and mentoring to the field team in the development of plans and implementation of activities;
• Represent AVSI Burundi at district-level coordination meetings (Clusters, Working Groups) and share with the supervisors the main points of the discussions;
• Work in close collaboration with both locals Operations and support units.

Essential Requirement:
• University degree, preferably in a topic related to project management or international development; a Master on Humanitarian Studies or African Studies an asset;
• 1 year of professional experience in humanitarian / emergency contexts;
• 1 year in management of humanitarian or development projects;
• Previous experience working with local partners and/or in remote-control settings;
• Excellent knowledges of Office packet;
• Fluent in French and English;
• Previous experience in Burundi an asset.

• Strong communication skills and cross cultural sensitivity;
• Willingness to travel within the country.
