I am writing on behalf of the Primary State School, in Cappadocia, Turkey. Our mission is to provide education and instructions for children aged 6 to 15 and prepare them for secondary education. We have 600 pupils who are between 10 and sixteen years old. Students from participating schools will collect and share information on how schools in European countries are preparing young people to become citizens of Europe.
Aims:
- introduce the students in the European culture and civilization by knowing the history and traditions of partner countries. Students have to become aware of the importance of an united Europe by understanding concepts as European union, European parliament, European citizenship;
- exchanging pedagogical methods and strategies in order to improve the process of education by finding better solutions together with the partner schools;
- improving the students capacity of being friends with different peoples of different age , sex, religion, color;
- understanding the importance of a peaceful world by finding concrete solutions of maintaining peace on earth;
- knowing better our own cultural heritage;
- improving the connection with the local community and local authorities by involving them in the school activities.
